How to Configure AOL Email Settings Using IMAP/SMTP Server :-
If you want to download an email, IMAP is supposed to be the best option for any email client. Now, if a user wants to access AOL Mail and work with any compatible email client, IMAP is required. It first mentions specific details about AOL Mail, then works with IMAP server settings. All your messages are accessible through the AOL Mail IMAP server. Therefore, you need AOL mail settings to retrieve notifications.
How to Setup AOL prefer IMAP server settings:
Use the IMAP settings below to download your email from AOL Mail to a third-party email application, such as Thunderbird, Outlook, or Mac Mail. If you want to send a new email from your AOL account, please fill in the SMTP settings details when setting up the account to send outgoing emails from your AOL Mail account. Under the details you need to fill in the required space:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server
• Server – export.imap.aol.com
• Port – 993
• Requires SSL – Yes
Outgoing SMTP server address: smtp.aol.com
• SMTP port: 465
• SMTP security: TLS / SSL
• SMTP username – AOL email address
• SMTP password: AOL password
Access AOL Mail Using IMAP & POP Settings:-
AOL IMAP Email Server Setting:-
- The image above clearly shows the incoming and outgoing server settings for IMAP. Enter them as shown above.
- Make sure that instead of “username” you enter your full email address.
- Enter your email password in the password field and select the Remember password box.
- Go to the “more settings” option and click on the “advanced tab”.
- From there, make sure that SSL encryption has been enabled for both incoming and outgoing email services.
- Now enter the incoming port as 995 and the outgoing server port as 465.
- Finally click “OK” to save the settings, then click “Next” to complete the setup process.

AOL POP Email Server Settings :-
POP downloads a copy of your emails from your account (mail.aol.com) to the app. This means that if you delete an email from your account after downloading it, the downloaded copy remains in the app. Additionally, POP only downloads emails from Inbox (not custom folders), so to download all your emails, you will need to move emails from existing folders to Inbox.

- POP Username – Your AOL Mail screen name (for example, if your address is me@aol.com, your screen name is “me”)
