DVR Troubleshooting :

Most of the problems found with the Spectrum Business DVR can be solved by restarting the Spectrum receiver by disconnecting the cable for 60 seconds and then plugging it back in. Wait up to 20 minutes for the device to fully recover and then restart again.

Playback issue:

Issues include freezing/ difficulty rewinding/ fast forwarding through recorded programs. These issues are caused due to issues with the original broadcast. Before you start recording a live broadcast, first try recording for a few minutes then view to check that the recorded content has no issue. Also, you can refresh your receiver and try again to view the recorded content.

Recording Issues:

You need to check that the DVR has enough space to record the program. Also, check that you are not trying to record On Demand programs.

Error in Series Recording:

Mostly the series recording is set to record only new episodes; in some cases where new episodes are not available it does not record. Try setting your DVR to record all episodes so that it records all episodes, not just new episodes. You can also try setting a manual recording.

Picture Quality Issues (Scrambled picture/ Digital tiling):

  • Check your connections
  • TV and cable are properly connected;
  • The coax cable and the outlet wall is connected properly.
  • Refresh your Receiver.
  • Unplug the receiver and wait for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back again.

Recordings Not Working :

Recorded programs or scheduled recordings can be automatically deleted from the DVR if the memory is full. To free up disk space for new records, you may need to delete some old records. Your DVR may also have a predetermined episode limit for each serial recording set too low.

Can’t Delete Recordings:

If you are using a multi-room DVR, make sure that the recording you are trying to delete does not currently work on another DVR. If you are still having problems, you can erase the hard drive of the digital video recorder and erase all recordings.
Deleted programs cannot be recovered after wiping the hard drive. Deleting the program can also affect any future or scheduled serial recording.
