Microsoft Outlook is more than just an best email client forever. Over time, it has become a multipurpose resource that supports task management, note taking, and calendar functions. It even encourages workforce collaboration, thanks to its integration with Office 365 tools like Teams Meetings. As the email client continues to evolve, Microsoft Outlook now offers a pre-installed polling tool.

Poll in Microsoft Outlook :

The ability to create surveys within Microsoft Outlook has been around for some time. With its current integration with Microsoft Forms, you can insert a survey in an email in Outlook and distribute it to employees throughout your organization. But the poll functionality was only available as a previous plugin.

Now Microsoft says that the survey comes pre-configured in their Outlook mailbox. As such, the functionality is ready to use without any additional configuration.

As usual, respondents can vote in the email you sent them. Or, they can open the survey in a separate browser tab to share. In addition, the voting card in the email text shows the survey results in real time.

The latest update to Microsoft Outlook  should help you start online surveys a little faster.

In other related news, Microsoft Forms now supports sharing the survey design and survey results with specific users. The feature reduces the risk of survey content falling into the wrong hands within your organization.

Create a Poll On Windows Outlook –

  • In a new email message, go to the Insert tab and then click Poll.

Note: Find Polls on the Options tab> Use the Voting Button> Polls.
The poll panel opens and you are ready to type your first question and two choices.

  • To add additional options, click + Add option.
  • When you add options, you can decide whether you want respondents to select only one answer or multiple answers. If you want to allow multiple answers, toggle the Multiple Answer button to the right so that it turns green.
  • Click on Insert Poll in the email.

  • In a new email message, select the More Options button> Poll.
  • The poll panel opens and you are ready to type your first question and two choices.
